Jimmy helped develop a tree planting project in rural areas of Malawi. To bring back what has been lost to floods and cyclones, teachers plant trees with their students in the communities they teach in. Teachers act as catalysts for community building and regeneration of natural resources. This project helps teachers and teacher trainees understand that they are agents of change in their communities.

“They (young teachers) are not just there to teach children in a classroom, but they need to take an active part of developing the communities and changing the mindset of communities in terms of being part of fighting off the effects of global warming and climate change.”
