Francis Bizoza

Francis teaches foundational reading and maths to out-of-school children, and he works with teachers in refugee camps in North Uganda. Francis also teaches these educators and children about taking care of natural resources, which is key for their survival in settings exposed to climate hazards. Francis teaches about the trees and plants that can help regenerate the soil. He designs and develops play and project-based learning activities as he believes this approach allows children in vulnerable settings to learn experientially about how to make a positive impact in their environment.

Listen to Francis

“You have to develop the art of being responsible to your environment… so we need to look at how to integrate it with global citizenship to education, and integrate it with things like empathy.”
