How to scale up effective interventions in early childhood development

Raquel Bernal Salazar, Professor of Economics, Universidad de los Andes, Colombia, is investigating how to scale up effective interventions in early childhood development, how interventions at scale work and how to progressively enhance nationwide programs, particularly in developing countries. Her latest large-scale intervention study in Colombia has yielded positive results, improving nutrition and cognitive development for infants in situations of socio-economic vulnerability.
