Guyot Betoto

Guyot is deeply committed to his students’ learning and wellbeing. They learn in overcrowded classrooms where resources are scarce. Guyot actively involves them in international projects like Decarbonize, which focuses on climate action and sustainable development. By engaging students in local environmental issues, such as changes in farming and fishing practices, Guyot helps them develop a deeper understanding and empathy for their Malagasy community’s struggles with climate change. This hands-on learning experience led his students to publish an article for COP26, reflecting their concerns and hopes for environmental protection.

“That project gave us the opportunity to be heard, to be known by the rest of the world, because our article was published during the COP26, and that we were asked our life experience about the environmental change in here.”
