Rocío had just returned to teaching after the school holidays in Argentina, when in March 2020 the COVID-19 lockdown forced her to teach virtually. She had little time for student interaction with her new group. To bridge the gap, Rocío and her colleagues created “science boxes” containing materials for experiments. She delivered these boxes to her students, who were thrilled to explore the contents. The initiative not only provided hands-on learning but also demonstrated solidarity and support. Rocío was moved by the positive feedback from both students and parents, showing they had understood and addressed their students’ needs.

“With the help of some of my colleagues from the science department we created a science box. I even took some of those boxes to the students’ houses. The most important thing was that they could touch something, everything is in the cloud these days.”
