Bridging the digital divide in environmental education
Mary teaches in a semi-arid area in Kenya with severe rainfall shortages. She sees a link between environmental degradation and poverty. Driven by her experiences, she educates young people about their role in environmental stewardship, showing how actions like tree planting can lead to a better future. Despite limited technological resources, Mary secured internet access for her school, enabling her students to connect with peers worldwide, collaborate on climate issues, and participate in global conferences. She brings personal connection and love to her teaching, motivating her students to engage in sustainability efforts and global dialogues.
