Jan Engelmann is Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of California at Berkeley. He directs the Social Origins Lab, which draws on developmental, cross-cultural, and comparative methods to chart the ontogenetic and phylogenetic course of human-unique skills and motivations.
