Research Fellow in youth development and mental health, King’s College London

Kathryn Bates is a Research Fellow in youth development and mental health at King’s College London. She uses a range of techniques, including modelling longitudinal data and working with charities and young people, to understand how the world we live in influences young people’s brain, cognitive, and mental health development. She is also the host of The Science or Fiction Podcast: the podcast that interviews researchers to separate the science from the fiction in news headlines. The podcast is co-produced with young people and for young people to ensure it is informative and accessible.
