David Bürgin is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Zurich, Jacobs Center for Productive Youth Development & Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Research Department, and a Senior Researcher at University Psychiatric Hospitals at the University of Basel, in Switzerland. David is a psychologist (MSc) with a major in clinical psychology and neuroscience. He received his PhD in Clinical Research from the Medical Faculty of the University of Basel, focusing on child and adolescent psychiatry and youth mental health. His research explores the biological, psychosocial, and socioecological consequences of childhood adversities and stressors in particular affecting mental health and social participation in adolescence and young adulthood. David hopes that his work will help to inform and target efforts and policies designed to enable young people to thrive amidst their challenges.
