Aura first learned about social and financial education in the centre where she worked as an English teacher. Training changed how she thinks about money and other resources. She became a passionate advocate for healthy resource management planning and saving. For the past few years she has helped teenagers understand and practise healthy financial and entrepreneurial behaviours. Aura could see the impact of these learnings on her students, and in one student in particular whose saving plan paved the way for a brighter future.

Aura Juárez is an English as a second language teacher in San Salvador. She works with teenagers and is developing social and financial education in an alternative school program that offers teenagers from underserved communities life skills that are not covered by the local school education.
