Shereen Abdullah

Shereen is a secondary school teacher in Egypt who works with families to support students’ learning. Shereen showed the mother of one child with ADHD the progress that he’d made, sharing positive feedback which eventually brought his mother back into school life. She was encouaraged when the parents of one student aiming for an Ivy League university approached Shereen to ask for tips to help their child. She sees parental engagement as especially important if the child has any kind of special need.

Shereen Abdullah is an English literature and film studies teacher at the American International School in Egypt and a Programme Leader with the International Baccalaureate Organization. She is currently pursuing her Master’s in Special Education at Acacia University, deepening her commitment to inclusive and transformative learning. With a background in theatre and journalism, Shereen brings a creative, interdisciplinary lens to her teaching. She’s also a passionate advocate for neurodiverse learners, drawing from both professional expertise and her personal journey as a mother to a child on the autism spectrum.
