Silvana organises her classroom considering what is best for her students’ different needs. Silvana’s school actively supports diversity, equity, inclusion. She and her school work hard to make sure all children feel like they belong to their learning community. They believe that students can only learn if they feel like they belong, no matter what their needs are.

Silvana Gili (PhD) is a primary school teacher at an international school in São Paulo in Brazil. She is passionate about inclusive education and about language and literature. She is an expert in children’s literature and researches the language of picture books and what makes them so interesting to young (and not-so-young) readers.
