Melis Muradoglu is currently a Postdoctoral Scholar in the Department of Psychology at UC Berkeley. She received degrees in Psychology and Anthropology from the University of Florida, earned a PhD in Psychology from NYU, and then completed postdoctoral training at Stanford University. Melis studies how children’s knowledge about their academic and social worlds is organized around more general, informal principles called intuitive theories. Part of this work attempts to understand how these general principles in the academic domain intersect with individual differences in motivation.
