David Bürgin is a psychologist (MSc) with a major in clinical psychology and neuroscience. He is based at the Jacobs Center for Productive Youth Development. He received his PhD in Clinical Research from the Medical Faculty of the University of Basel, focusing on child and adolescent psychiatry and youth mental health. His research explores the biological, psychosocial, and socioecological consequences of childhood adversities and stressors, drawing on findings from population-based samples and research in populations that have experienced a great deal of adversity. David hopes that his work will help to inform and target efforts and policies designed to enable young people to thrive, despite stress and adversity.
