Aileen Edele is Professor for Learning and Instruction with a Special Focus on Migration-Related Diversity at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. She completed her PhD in psychology at Freie Universität Berlin. Since 2020, Aileen is head of the Department of Education and Integration at the Berlin Institute for Empirical Integration and Migration Research (BIM), an Interdisciplinary Center of the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin. Since 2025, she also serves as the director of BIM. Her research examines how teaching and learning processes in the immigration society can succeed and looks for approaches to improve educational integration. Her research projects have been founded by the Jacobs Foundation, the German Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space, the German Federal Ministry for Education, Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth and the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG, German Research Foundation).
