Ian Lyons is an Associate Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience at Georgetown University, where he directs the Math Brain Lab. His research combines cognitive science, developmental psychology, and neuroscience to understand how people learn and use mathematics. His work examines how mathematical concepts are represented in the mind and brain, how these representations change with learning and development, and how emotions such as math anxiety shape mathematical performance and engagement.
