Lucinda (Lucy) Grummitt
Lucinda (Lucy) Grummitt is an NHMRC Emerging Leadership Research Fellow at the Matilda Centre for Research in Mental Health and Substance Use, a Flagship in the Faculty of Medicine and Health. Lucy leads an award-winning program of research to understand and address childhood adversity and trauma as a risk factor for mental ill-health and substance use problems. She is a member of the NSW Mental Health Commission’s Outcomes Framework Expert Reference Group. Lucy is on the editorial board of PLoS Mental Health, BMC Psychiatry, and the Journal of Child and Adolescent Trauma. She has authored over 45 peer-reviewed publications in leading journals (e.g. JAMA Psychiatry, JAMA Pediatrics). Her research is cited in influential policy, including position statements by American College of Preventive Medicine and World Health Organization, new budgetary frameworks for the US National Institutes of Health and evidence briefs for the NSW Department of Communities & Justice. In the last five years she has secured over $4.2M in competitive research funding. She has been recognised by 16 awards, including Best Paper Award from the Society for Mental Health Research and the APMD Early Career Researcher Award.
