Integrating technology into play-based education
Pamela teaches a diverse classroom. She takes a holistic approach to education, combining concrete and pictorial methods to cater to different learning styles. During the COVID-19 lockdown, her school transitioned to online learning using Google Classroom, creating virtual classrooms and instructional videos to maintain playful, engaging lessons. Teachers adapted by sending home resources like whiteboards and Play-Doh for continued interactive learning. Pamela values teaching beyond academics, focusing on social skills, self-esteem, and emotional development. She finds fulfilment in witnessing students grasp concepts through play and develop positive, socially responsible behaviours, ensuring learning is both enjoyable and impactful.

“For the children, I think the rewarding outcome for them is when they grasp that concept, when they have understood that skill, it is a pure joy that they feel. And I know that once I’ve taught through play, that knowledge will stick.”
