Robbie Dean

Robbie explains how Teach For All are developing collective leadership to improve education and expand opportunities for all children. The ‘teaching as collective leadership’ framework emphasises social and emotional learning skills and student-centred education. A Teach For All pilot study investigated the impact of the framework on teacher development and student outcomes. The study involved two learning experiences for teachers and teacher coaches, and initial results showed high agreement with the framework’s principles. The study showed that mindsets could shift, and differential effects on teacher mindsets and actions when engaging with the framework through different channels.

“That shared experience of working in a network to learn and accelerate progress in teaching was one of the things that was most valued through this study and through the intervention that we designed.”
