Supporting children to move and play
Saumil Majmudar
Saumil designed a scalable program to get children to play, called EduSports. EduSports has helped hundreds of schools increase young people’s time playing. In one school, only five girls played football. After Saumil and EduSports taught teachers and students how to engage positively with football, 565 girls played football with confidence. Saumil urges PE teachers to support the children who move the least rather than those who are already good at sports. He calls on all educators to take fun seriously as a key element for learning and development.
