Koen Verrrecht

Koen uses a mobile school, essentially a blackboard on wheels, to engage with and provide positive experiences for children living on the streets. Children’s boundaries need to be respected, so they lead the interactions. Koen and other trained workers provide the children with positive experiences to boost their self-esteem. Developing mobile school street interventions involves an application process, prospection visit, and implementation training. The focus is on creativity, educational games, and using the panels, with an emphasis on building relationships and understanding the needs of the children.

“Mobile school is a blackboard on wheels, and the street workers can take it out on the street and use it as a tool to connect with street kids.”
