Mariëtte van Loon is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Developmental Psychology at the University of Bern, Switzerland. She also coordinates the Swiss Graduate School for Cognition, Learning, and Memory, a program for PhD students at the University of Bern that is co-funded by the Jacobs Foundation. Her research combines insights from developmental and educational psychology. In her work, she examines the development of self-monitoring and self-regulation skills in children and how these skills are affected by instructions, feedback, and the educational context.
