Elisabeth Wenger

Elisabeth Wenger is a research scientist at the Center for Lifespan Psychology, Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin, Germany, where she co-leads the Mechanisms and Sequential Progression of Structural Plasticity project. In 2015, she received the Otto Hahn Medal in recognition of her dissertation on the temporal course of plastic changes of the cortex caused by skill acquisition in adulthood. Wenger’s research continues to focus on how plasticity contributes to adult development on both the behavioral and the neural level. Specifically, she is interested in the timing and functional nature of anatomical grey matter changes following different kinds of training.
