Catalina Lecaros is a language teacher, visual artist, and PhD candidate in Education at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. She is the co-founder of Fundación Libro Abierto, a nonprofit that supports family literacy in underserved communities, and is deeply committed to reading promotion. Her research focuses on collaborative literacy interventions that connect families and schools to foster children’s language and literacy development. She investigates how children’s and parents’ engagement in shared reading relates to language, affect, and cognition within this context.
