Iroise Dumontheil obtained a PhD from the University of Paris VI. In 2012, she joined Birkbeck, University of London, before moving to the University of Melbourne in 2023. Her current research focuses on children and adolescents’ development of cognitive control and metacognition, which allow them to coordinate their thoughts and behaviours to achieve their goals. Iroise is interested in how changes in brain structure and brain function underlie cognitive development, in studying the impact of cognitive interventions, and in the potential implications of neuroscience research for science and mathematics education.
