Gillian sees three key challenges that teachers faced with the transition to remote learning during the pandemic: mastering new pedagogical techniques without prior experience, dealing with reduced emotional interaction with students, and balancing teaching with personal responsibilities at home. Gillian admires teachers’ adaptability. She notes how the pandemic exposed existing educational inequities. She calls for improved access to high-quality connectivity and educational resources globally and urges educators to collaborate and share effective practices. Emphasising the need for a blend of academic, engaging, and secure remote learning tools, Gillian advocates for a holistic approach to online education.
